How to reboot my brain and body in 15 mins

Posted by & filed under Blog.

Often we say, my brain is too busy and my body is too tired.  So what to do???

We want to connect the brain and body so they are running at the same rate, this can be done in as little as 15minutes, so whats your excuse.

Here are 3 ways to do just that.

1. Go outside,  straight away your senses will be alerted, nature will make you feel grounded , walk around the block,

focusing on breathing from the belly through your nose for 15 minutes

OR

2. Listen to music with your eyes half closed, breathing from the belly through your nose,as you walk around the room slowly at an even pace.

OR

3. Stand up near a window if possible , stretch your arms up in the air while breathing in through your nose ,then as you exhale through your nose, sweep the arms behind your back and link the hands, opening the chest and feeling the space in your heart.

Repeat this up to 5 times .

Do any of these daily for a week and let me know if it helps…..

Why would it work because we are made of organic matter and absorb everything around us, we need time to file away information, to have a clear thinking brain and we need to use our bodies in some way to release tension, toxins ect to help the blood flow and even out the rubbish from the good stuff.

MTHYS

You will forget where you are up to and will take too long to get back into the mood to work.

TRUTH

The brain will be fresh and the body relaxed ,so ideas will flow at a much faster rate,

happiness is activated and negativity will be lifted, you will feel in control of your mind and body.

Being busy and not taking regular breaks, may make you feel like you are accomplishing so much, but really you are going over old ground a lot of the time, making mistakes and overlooking the obvious .

This teaches the brain to stay activated or wired , so the body releases the hormone cortisol because it feels threatened or stressed, the body and mind need to take a break, so allow yourself time to reboot and start this practice today.

You will sleep better, preform better , and be much happier.

When I go to a yoga class…

When I go to a yoga class I want to do yoga, but in order to feel good doing yoga I have to prepare my body.

Awaken my spine to a flowing breathe and open my hips so they don’t constrict my movements.

Unfortunately I’m not your super flexible yogi who can jump straight into a cross-legged position and start stretching with flowing arm movements.

When I go to a  yoga class I want to feel good, enjoy my body, I like a challenge but I don’t like to feel constricted.

These are the steps I have put in place in my own yoga classes, so the benefits of yoga can seep deeply into our subconscious minds and physical memories.

I want everyone to walk away from one of my classes feeling in love with their bodies and passionate about their lives.

It is only through experience that I have discovered how adaptable we really are if given the right encouragement.

So I start my classes off slow and encourage the body to relax and open up, then 9 out of ten times our bodies will be way more responsive than rushing straight into a cross legged pose or straight into a sun salute.

I hope this will help you understand yoga and stick with this ancient art of healing ,particularly  if you are struggling at this moment.

Yoga can help us through many physical and mental barriers, as it places us in a state of physical awareness the brain pathways start to feel a renewed light and energy and create a new connection or reconnection  between our physical form and our energy form.

We recognise  that it is our own power or energy that gives us our choices that will eventually direct our lives to a deeper understanding of ourselves which seems to lift a giant weight from our shoulders.

Yoga shows us a simpler path through life, we just have to practice the ancient art!

A couple of easy steps that will have you creating your own fermented foods, whenever your heart so desires.

Place your cabbage in a processor or chop it roughly by hand, you will need a quarter of a cabbage of any colour and type. Once chopped, you can either whizz the cabbage up again so it looks like the above picture or you can leave it in larger chopped pieces- the choice is yours!

Boil 2 cups of water and wash out the jar you plan to use with some of the boiling water. Cool the rest of the water- once cooled, cover your cabbage with the remaining water.

Next, seal the jar with a lid and place it near the window on your kitchen bench. give it a shake or stir everyday. Your Sauerkraut should be ready in about 3 to 4 days. It should smell sour and taste sour too. If any mould grows on it throw it out .

After 3 or 4 days strain the remaining fluid off the cabbage and keep your finished Sauerkraut and the fluid you removed in the fridge.

You can drink the fluid and eat the sauerkraut daily for the same effect as a probiotic- helping your body to build up good gut bacteria, helping you to naturally breakdown food efficiently. If you have not had Sauerkraut before start off with a small amount until your system gets used to it.
